The Shuswap Community Foundation has 12 members. These 12 are also the governing Board of Directors. Each board member serves a three year term, with the terms of four directors expiring each year. Half of the directors are appointed by an “ Appointment Committee” made up of the Mayors of Salmon Arm and Sicamous, the Dean of Okanagan College, the Chair of the Shuswap Hospital Foundation, a representative of the Columbia Shuswap Regional District and a member of the Board of School District 83.
Current Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is supported by the part time work of two staff persons, Paulette Brown, the book keeper and office liaison with corporate sponsorships and Amber Wetherill, a receptionist and clerk with a technical aptitude.
Founders, Memorials and Stories
The Shuswap Community Foundation is committed to celebrating our Founders and recognizing the contributions of others to our community. We invite you to read more about the people behind these contributions.
We honour those individuals who have been memorialized with donations to the foundation in their memories on our In Memoriam Tributes listing.
Our Story Book highlights a myriad of donors whose contributions have and continue to make a difference in the Shuswap. This book will be maintained in perpetuity in both paper and electronic form. It will continue to be not only an important record for the Foundation, but a precious archive for our community.
