About Our GrantsThe Shuswap Community Foundation exists to provide a means by which people can support their community in perpetuity. The Foundation has over $5.5 million in endowed assets, the annual earnings of which are distributed to support projects in the area that will enhance the quality of life of residents. Non-profit organizations operating within the boundaries of Shuswap Community Foundation may apply for regular grants from the Shuswap Community Foundation. Regular grants support a broad range of projects. The deadline for applications to be considered is June 15 each year. To be eligible for grants the applicant must be a registered charity and the project must be located within the Shuswap. (Under some circumstances an unregistered charity may be supported by an agreement with a qualified charitable organization). Please read the Grant Guidelines carefully that appear in this section before completing your application. A letter of intent is required (deadline is May 15th) before proceeding with a grant application. The Shuswap Community Foundation also acts as an agent to receive applications for the City of Salmon Arm Grants-in-Aid Program for non-profit Community Groups. Please visit the City of Salmon Arm website www.salmonarm.ca and follow the links: City Services>Financial Services>Grants for Community Groups to find a page outlining the parameters for these grants, a fillable pdf application form and a fillable pdf Accounting Form which must be completed within the year of the grant's distribution. |
